We are converting our conservatory with wooden floor in to a home gym.
it needs something on the floor to stop weights/turbo damaging it.
Is it just a case of looking for the cheapest m2 10mm + eva floor mats?
I’ve read that stable mats are better value for money?
They need to be interlocking and roughly 6 m2

I have duramat rubber floor tiles. They're very functional but still a bit smelly after nearly two years. So I wouldn't recommend those for inside a house.
When I set up a home gym in my garage I got everything from Mirafit including the flooring, they have several types from foam to thick rubber, I'm afraid i know nothing of stable flooring.

I think stable mats are really cheap in the US so get a lot of love on English speaking fitness forums, but work out a bit more expensive in the UK and Europe. I have never seen an interlocking mat that I think would last. When I did mine I used this stuff made from granulated rubber, there is hardly any give in it at all so stable underfoot, but takes out any impact or vibration, I got it 2cm thick because I was regularly lifting 180kg barbells at the time, but I think 1cm would be plenty for what I do now and probably most applications. I just cut it to length with a stanley knife and used black gaffer tape over the joints, but then I like the "this is a place to work" for my workout room rather than a "place to take selfies for Instagram" which too many home gyms seem to aspire to.

I bought the 15mm mats from Sprung Gym Flooring (thicker would have had me cutting doors 😉). It's not interlocking as I've fitted it wall-to-wall in a tile pattern. Works really well though I still use a yoga mat for any such exercises as it is quite rough on bare feet.
Mine was laid on a concrete floor so it's very stable. It's squeezed into place rather than glued, so the last sections have to be cut just slightly larger than the measured gap. Getting just the right amount of excess took a wee bit of patience but it was all pretty simple.
I have Stable/Horse Stall mats in my garage gym. They have proven to be extremely durable even with my rough AF covid era weight plates being occationally dropped on them. Easy to clean too.
Here's mine...
It's evolved over the last few years: Kickr Bike, Headwind fan and Dyson tower fan, Hex dumbbells, Barbell and wall mounted rack, Decathlon bench (hidden), chin up bars, resistance bands, old TV, old amp and speakers, carpet floor with just enough space for yoga mat.
And massive map of the UK for planning tours 👍
I'm in there most days 🙂
Cheeky edit... I need to sell my barely used 6' Olypmic barbell with collars and two portable squat racks if anyone is interested (and near Stockport!). With a few added weight plates that would be a good starter for squats, deadlifts, etc..

There's a few quid in there! I'd love a cable set-up but no more space!
Got these in my posh shed. Easy to lay and not showing the effects of having a hefty work bench point loading them. Top top, leave them out in warm sunshine to make them more pliable and easy to work with.
The floor size calculator was really accurate too, no wastage.
