Thumbs up to Carlsberg for ditching the bird trapping plastic rings on their 4 packs.
(Even if I did need to read the instructions on how to get them apart.)
If you don't know what I'm on about (not that infrequent an occurrance):

Heineken 4 packs used to (or maybe still do) come with a plasticy clip thing holding the tops of the cans. Its far more plastic by weight, but is easily recycled. I do wonder what proportion of users bother though, vs how many end up in a landfill or park bush.
I'm not condoning the use of plastic, but pretty much all plastic beer can 'rings' become very brittle and drop to bits after a few days exposure to sunlight, which somewhat negeates the 'immediate' danger to wildlife, but obviously there's still a shit load of broken plastic rings which is very bad, as it will end up in the sea, or in landfill at some point.

Quite a lot of smaller breweies do this now. Magick rock, for example, but thats only for carry outs, if you buy online they come in a cardboard box.
I was hoping for a alcohol / sweetie mash up like the Toblerorange on the other thread

My local ice cream van used to sell these when I was a kid - like a cola bottle but booze flavoured
