Anyone care to recommend me a guitar wall hanger. I need two, one for an electric and one for an acoustic. Hercules looks okay but anything else I should be looking at. Cheers.

I've used Hercules, they are OK, and have not damaged Nitro finshes, but wouldn't use the screws/rawlplugs they supply.

All of mine are on Hercules hangers, ditching the screws and rawlplugs included and using proper fixings for plasterboard walls.

Personally I would always keep a guitar in it's case not hang it by it's neck

I've got some generic hangers which have been up for years with no issues. As above, you'll want to use your own rawl plugs and screws though.

Unless your guitar is a valuable relic, I wouldn't worry about hanging it from it's neck, but remember to keep it out of direct sunlight, so save the wood getting warped / discoloured from being in the sun all of the time.

Which I have fixed to a polished copper pipe and hooks onto the picture rails so I can easilly move them around the house, saves putting screw holes in the walls, though not much use if you don't have picture rails i guess.

It's a reasonable comment to make if you have children pets etc in the house and if the guitar s worth much. I'd also add if you have an acoustic not to hang in on an external wall as the coldness of the wall in comparison to the warm air of the room can really wreck a quality instrument.

If you are looking for yet another option then you could try one of these

I quite like it as the arm things move in and grip the sides of the neck well. I've had mine for a few years now with no problems.

Same here!
It's in my hands or in it's case.

At the last count I had about 13 guitars.

That's a lot of cases

I never liked the Hercules ones, a bit clunky and cheap looking in the flesh in my opinion. I use the String Swing ones, exactly the same as the Martin ones, but cheaper. Think ours were about £10-12 each.

We've got all our guitar/basses on our walls - we play them more as a result! (And they look pretty!)

Hope that helps!

If I put my guitar back in it's case when I wasn't playing I wouldn't play as much.

Emsz - where did you buy the transparent guitar?

I use the string swings ones as well, but they look and feel like the wood block was finely handcrafted by a year 8 woodwork student. (Ok, I bought mine a good few years ago, so they may have improved). Half an hour spent with some sandpaper and varnish make them look a lot better!

Agree with above re: provided fixings. Ignore whatever plugs/screws come with them and use what is appropriate for your walls. I've seen some pretty lightweight fixings supplied that I would not trust to hold my mandolin up!

I use a couple of these,

but that's not going to help your 'off the floor' needs...
