You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
i have a Line 6 Spider 3 amp and am starting to get to a level where i am wanting to record my songs etc. i have had a look on t'internet and there is so much info on it i dont know what to do.
can anyone give me some advice on what i need and how to do it please?
many thanks in advance
For quick music recording I use Audacity. Its a basic PC based recorder where I simply plug a mic into the laptop and record. It can be used with mixing hardware, but I don't use it for that.
If you want to do proper recording, you could ask questions on the following sites:

Sound on Sound
Guitar Zone
Hope this helps.
if you want to go for quite a pro set-up for reasonable cash, your best bet is to invest in a external soundcard with a few ins and outs (m-audio is a good start manufacturer wise) and then invest in a pro - tools set up (in fact an Mbox 2 will solve both problems being an external soundcard with inputs and outputs and comes bundled with the software!)...check it out:
