Anybody switched from halogen to LED, and could recommend a bulb? Must be replacing a GU10 halogen bulb every 2 months.
Thanks in advance
i usually recommend the deltech 5w units available from energybulbs.
I have a combination of these and some cheap cluster LED (£3.50) units as well as some super bright 7W
Good colour, brightness and spread

I got some older generation of these

bluer light, but very bright.
these are the cheaper ebay ones. Iv installed about 80 of these and about 4 have died in 12 months

I've found these to be fine

Better than the frosted version sold by the same place. The quality of the light is quite flat but the colour and output of the warm version is perfectly fine in the kitchen.
Best result was to run 3 of them in a 4 bulb cluster with one traditional halogen to improve the quality of the light. No LED failures so far (6 bulbs, 6 months) and still cuts power consumption by 65%.
Tesco have some good Phillips ones for £6.50 at the moment - I have 15 of them and they're very good, although obviously not quite as bright as 35W halogen. The warm white is slightly pinkish, but you don't notice it unless you use a fluorescent lamp in the same room.
Check out the new range at tlc-direct. They look very similar (but better) than the 30+ GU10 led down lights i've got in my house.
usually get mine here http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/gu10-240v-c-92_95.html but I haven't bought any lately.
The reason for GU10 lamp failure is the heat build up, this has been more of a problem since enclosed/fire rated have been installed
Thanks guys, will try and make up my mind

I use those too. More like a 35W equivalent, which is just fine.
Dibbs which ones do you use???
sd I've currently gone back to using Megaman compact fluorescent's, but after trying the MR16 version of these 4x1w-leds I'll be trying them next.
