Ace 🙂
Big cock up...just completed 4 missions...then didnae save them! What a winker i am!
Autosave, shirley?
Correct...just lost the last by bailing out accidentally. Panic attack over.
The sense of humour and music is utterly fantastic. i could listen to the radio all day!
I am glad there isnt a swear jar in my house every time I use Trevor!
About to start my 2nd heist - this should be interesting 🙂
Finally found the airport.
I did find plenty of bikes in the mountains though. Road bikes, mountain bikes. I was riding a bike along the road and a woman in a car bumped into me, so I emptied my gun into the car. HA HA!!!!!! This is what things should be like!
one time I was stood on a hill and was browsing the internet on my phone, then I got eaten by a cat!!!! What's that about?
Finally found the airport.
If you look at the map that's in the game case, the airport and other major locations, are on it.
Finally found my first 'free' weapon...a Jerry can...doh.
Have also been mugged...at a cost of $600
First few missions last night and was really enjoyable. Loving the dialogue with the characters. Had a little drive around but never stopped anywhere. Will be searching for parachutes and planes to steal tonight. 😀

That'll be the map my son left at his mates house then will it?
12am last night, speeding through town flat out in my Prius, approached a busy junction at the crest of a hill so fast that I got enough air to clear all the cars and land cleanly on the other side without slowing.. I let out an involuntary 'whooah!' which woke up the Mrs.. she couldn't get back to sleep and is now very tired and grumpy..
Oops.
That'll be the map my son left at his mates house then will it?
I can confirm it is.
There's also a map on the pause screen where you can zoom in and set a waypoint and allow the sat nav to do the route finding. It's sometimes a little farther as the sat nav only it's legal routes.
All those cars to nick, and you're driving a Prius?
You must be the greenest person in the world!

Problem with that is the map only displays once you have driven along the roads in the area. So if you're looking for the airport, and haven't driven down there accidentally, you're boned.
Do parachutes open automatically ?

Do parachutes open automatically ?
Only one way to find out.... 😈
No, they do not. At least not quickly!
Do parachutes open automatically ?
They equip when you're falling, then hit A.
A? I guess you mean X 🙂
I'm sure I mean A....or do I?
Try practising jumping from the bell end 😀
Once a parachute is used is it packed up for use again or do you hhave to find a new one? I've not found any yet.
One time only. Just think of where youre likely to find/need parachutes...and not the shops.
I've found two airports now. The one in the North looks a lot better protected.
Maybe I should look at an online map but it feels like cheating. And I'm um, supposed to be working... Break you see. Just like I'd get at work.
Still to ill to play more than a couple of hours last night, but wow. The game really is HUGE. Went for an epic drive up the coast, ended up hiding from the police in what I think was a saw mill, stealing a truck then swimming out in to the sea to escape. As luck would have it there was a yacht just bobbing about and waiting to be taken back. Excellent fun. The mission near the start involving the boat was epic - laughing out loud playing that one.
The option to replay missions is a huge step forward for the series. I can see that boat mission being replayed several times. Does anybody know whether you can go back and choose the different heist options on replay?
Must stop reading this thread at work... 🙁

Why, when they give you one in the box?
Last night I spent an hour or so in the shooting range. It's great fun.. got a few golds and silvers, mostly bronze though.
The map seems terribly familiar though.. are bits of it actually the same as the one from San Andreas? Or just similar?
Yeah, some bits are very familiar.

However, the option to not be able to restart missions while actually doing them is a pain. As there are times when you know you've messed up and and just want to restart, but have to wait till you have failed.
Has anyone done "that" mission yet? Can you walk through like no Russian?
The torture one?
Yep.
Don't like Trevor. ( I know, I'm just expressing)
I haven't even met Trevor yet. I've only just killed Jay Norris.
I so need this game in my life!
You do - everyone does.
Whilst I'm waiting for a PS3 and the new game I thought I'd try and get coax some life into the old xbox and San Andreas. I'm actually only about 30% through that, thought it was more. Is there actually any point in me getting the new one? Yeah the graphics and controls will be better but it's still the same game isn't it?
It is, but better.
Tonight's plan will be to do a parachute jump, steal a plane and then make some money by robbing people at cash points and hijacking security vehicles, then I can buy/ sell some shares to make even more money. Cheep shares for sale at Lifeinvader if you've completed that mission. 😀
The map is bigger, the whole world is FAR more detailed and drawn beautifully, perspective is properly done rathe than faked, but the real difference is in the gameplay and the story. It's on another level.
However if you feel like playing SA, then do it! No reason not to. SA is a great game, don't waste it.
Wife - Can we go bed shopping at lunch time?
Me - Only if I can get GTA V on the way.
Wife - Go on then.
Result!
You can go up really high in the plane. I may go for max altitude then jump out, see how long I can parachute for.
I did the BASE jump off the skyscraper tower crane again now I've worked out parachute controls and managed to land on the roof of the sports stadium and get inside (and couldn't then find a way out)
Not certain but I think the weather / wind might affect your parachute I seemed to get much further second time than first time
If that is the case it incredible attention to detail by Rockstar
To answer previous question parachutes appear on your back when you jump off something (assume you have collected one), press x (on ps3) to open, left right steers push down to slow down your descent
I just played tennis.
I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah I am enjoying San Andreas, the graphics are definitely hugely dated. I also think it really wasn't designed for a 42 inch tele, it can barely keep up with the frame rate. Cars more than 5 metres in front of me just keep disappearing and reappearing. It is possibly partly to do with the knackered xbox as well as the game.
I like tennis, but I have a controller issue, if I've been playing for a while it keeps quitting me out of the game. Had same issue when casing a building on a mission, the "right" button on the D pad puts a pair of glasses on and the bl00dy things kept putting themselves on. Think it's my controller rather than the game, might be temperature related - starts off fine but gets worse over time.
All three characters unlocked now. They're all awesome but I'm loving Trevor. His first few missions are insanely good fun.
San Andreas also had weird perspective tricks to make the world look bigger when in fact it wasn't, some sort of wide angle effect perhaps. Looked ok in static shots, things look distant, but they don't take very long to get to when travelling or falling down a mountain or something. The trees look normal sized from a distance but are enormous close up.
GTAV does not have that, at least not so much.

Wife - Can we have a whole evening of wonderful, alcohol and viagra fuelled sex please?
Me - Hey sugar, get youself over to my LOINS and make yoself a party. Here's fifty dolla!
Noooooo Sainsburys doesn't have it!
Off to Tesco.
Noooooo Sainsburys doesn't have it!
You can have my copy when I'm done. Be about the middle of 2014, as I have only done the intro mission, and am still just driving round getting haircuts 😀
Go for the full beard on Michael. Best beard I've seen in a video game.
Ooo, nice - this afternoon's experiment. Already got Franklin's which ain't bad.
We have a winner. Thankyou Tesco.

First thing I did.
Dunno... Ive got trevor looking like hip jesus at the mo
Tesco just came up trumps for me as well. Although worryingly a chap in front of me at customer service was returning his PS3 disc as it kept giving him an error code. Anyone else had similar?

Same here, looks great with a suit and aviators.
Probably misguided but spent most of his cash on the haircut and paint jobs on a car 😳

Christ, if that happens to me tonight I will be getting the kids out of bed and carting them to Tesco to get it sorted.
Can you get your characters to lose weight like in SA?
That was always fun, massive CJ + massive afro in boxers, combat boots and combat shotgun (people in the game) FEAR ME
Probably misguided but spent most of his cash on the haircut and paint jobs on a car
It's not real life you know, it's just a game. 😉
Where do you change the characters appearance, am I right in assuming it's where you get your hair cut? Also, are mullets available? 😀
Random police shoot out happened on road I was driving on so I stopped to watch, after the police shot the guy an ambulance turned up for the guy they shot. I love these little details.
Was reading earlier that a good way of making money is that when you hear or see the police, you follow them and if it's a burglary then follow the thief and steel his loot.
I think I've got the British version of the game; I haven't even seen a copper yet let alone had a shoot out with one!
Anyone bothered doing any of the car towing missions? Do they get interesting? Or do you just need the money later on?
I've done about 4 towing missions now. I suspect they end up leading somewhere more interesting but right now they're just dull, and you get nothing for them.
And the cops are all over me constantly. I don't know what you're doing but all I have to do is jump a red light and I've got a helicoptor shooting at me.
I've done 2 towing missions and they've both been dull. I thought the second one was going to turn interesting when the owner of a car parked in a disabled space came out of the restaurant and started shouting the odds, but he was all mouth and I was able to just drive off.
Anyone seen the guy just hanging from the billboard / road sign above the freeway?

The cops don't seem to care about red light jumping if you're on a bike. 😆
The third towing mission is a guy who has parked on a crossing with a train coming.
I got him off in time.
I always seem to miss the entrance to the tow yard and forget that you cant really reverse with a car attached to the truck. No one seems to mind the wee bit of damage so far 😀
Who's found the car-sized vert ramp at the airport?
This game misses a casino, would of been a great way to make cash or rob.

Any tips on how best to pull him off?
