Got an email today into our Limited Company regarding Growth Vouchers.
Looks like yet another scheme dreamed up by some Politician with no idea of business - basically transfers taxpayer funds into the private sector by subsidising 'advice' given by a signed-up group of Companies.
And I reckon I'd spend the best part of the money offered just filling in forms and persuading the Supplier to do likewise - along with the De Minimus regs and getting a split invoice...
only me then...
I've spent the last few years trying to build a business and grants of various kinds are why its still viable. However, schemes like these just seem to keep the 'unemployable' in well paid 'consultancy' roles. You see the same old faces popping up from scheme to scheme and rarely are they capable of moving a business forward.
Spend your time looking for grants that allow you to do what you think your business needs rather than what someone else thinks. There are some good options out there.

Cracking business model - only viable with a grant/subsidy, although Capita/Serco manage well 🙂

Agree, and you can usually see them hob-knobbing with politicians - as per Emma what-not and Enterprise Nation.
