OK, just found a sweet potato in cupboard that has sent up some shoots, thought i might try and grow it. I know it is the wrong time of year to try and plant it out and get a crop from it.
Has anyone tried? how much heat do they need, how much sun etc.
Tried - failed- disappointed!
You don't plant the 'potato' like a traditional spud - put the shoots from the chitting tubor in compost but if it's a supermarket leftover don't expect anything to come from it.
I found some Tiger bread with mould on, left it in the back garden, but never got any tigers from it.

Not expecting much but as it is already growing at least i have half a chance as far as i can see.
