So, I am hoping to take advantage of the HEEPS loan scheme to replace a boiler and windows, but first I need to arrange for a green deal energy assessment to be carried out.
The boiler will definitely be a recommended improvement as it falls below the minimum efficiency level, but the chap I spoke to on the phone said it was generally more difficult to get windows on the report. I can't help but wonder whether this is genuinely down to relatively poor efficiency gains from replacing single glazed windows compared to other measures or because the assessors are more likely to be linked to heating and insulation companies. There's certainly an almighty draught coming from my leaky windows at the moment!
Anyway, can anyone recommend a company that covers the Scottish Borders?
