Cliched film in cliche shocker.

It's basically godzilla vs transformers with some Prometheus outfits.

This looks like one of those guilty pleasure films, where you know its cliched hollywood action stuff, but enjoy it anyway. Like Tron Legacy.

Looks fantastic but the synopsis sounds incredibly uninspiring.

I have no guilt watching films like that. I sit there being happily entertained while people blow * the * up! 😀

without the religious slant - big roboty things mean automatic awesomeness of a planetary scale, who cares if its shit?

It is, though I believe the voice in the movie isn't going to be quite that obvious, they're going to tone it down a bit.

Yep, they got Ellen McLain to do the voice and asked Valve if it was OK if they went full GLaDOS in the trailer. She's ace, she also sang the [url=

Opera for Portal 2's ending and is the voice of the announcer in Team Fortress 2.

In those kind of films the synopsis is usually irrelevant. With GdT in charge at least it will look amazing, which is the main point I suspect.

From: http://www.totalfilm.com/features/50-riskiest-movie-projects

The Movie: Guillermo Del Toro unleashes the pitch of the year - giant robots vs giant monsters.

The Risk: How risky can this be? Well, with a $200+ million investment to recoup, an unstarry cast (Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba) and Del Toro doing a U-turn on 3D post-conversion, there are a lot of unknowns here.

Did It Pay Off?: A recent test screening reported off the scale, with Looper director Rian Johnson amongst those declaring it to be a hit. "Go into Pacific Rim prepared to be transmogrified into a 12 year old. And then to pee your pants with joy. I love it so much," Johnson tweeted.

I enjoyed listening to that very piece the other night. Was a bit disappointed to have finished Portal 2 so quickly 🙁
As a game coding monkey yourself, can you recommend any other Xbox titles I might like? (Loved LA Noire too, hoping to get Testament of Sherlock Holmes next) I dont play online/co-op stuff.

Worth noting that 1p and 2p Portal 2 are two separate games with different maps. Find a friend, double the game size.

If you liked LA Noire, try Red Dead Redemption.

There used to be a specific manga channel on Sky once; I used to watch lots of series on there, and I particularly enjoyed Neon Genesis Evangelion and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, anything with huge robots or mecha, and really massive monsters, especially with GdT at the helm fills me with joy, I'll happily sit there with a big grin on my face.
Then all I want is for GdT to cut his workload and get At The Mountains of Madness under way. I want to see really scary monsters, GdT is the only person I can think of with the imagination to make Lovecraft's monsters really terrifying.

The cake is a lie.

This film looks incredibly stupid. I can't wait to watch it.
