Hi there.
I’m looking for a set of 700x 50c Tires for my Wife gravel bike. She’s got SonderCamino And shes finding it a bit harsh on the 35s that came with it. I’ve been looking around and everything seems to be upwards of 50 quid. And I don’t work know no where to look for the deals now that we’ve lost chain reaction and wiggle.😢 So can anyone recommend me some good value good tires and where to get them. Or if anyone’s clearing out the garage ill buy them off you.
many thanks.
Depends on your riding but could a conti race king work?
29 x 2.0
Thanks
What her ladyship requires is a brace of Rene Herse tyres. Don’t ask how much they are though…😳
Schwalbe Bite and Ultrabite are available in 2.0 and are excellent.
I have Bite on the rear and Ultra on the font of my Grizl.
Michelin Power Gravel in 47mm? Under £40 anywhere. Had them on for last six months and very impressed. Roll quick and not a solitary puncture.
I kept the stock WTB riddler 700x37’s and swapped to a redshift stem to make things more comfortable. Works a treat. 2nd hand ones pop up for about the price of a set of new tyres.
My pick would be Continental Terra Hardpack which can be had for around the £30 mark if you shop around. Although, as the name suggests, they're not mud tyres.
Gravelkings are under £40 on the Panaracer website , I just put some on my HT see other post , first two rides on a mix of Singletrack, disused railway lines , roads all good so far 👍
Yeah, GravelKings in 50mm are really good.
I use these kenda honey badgers, just over 50mm,nice and cheap, will cost just under £30 a pair delivered

I've got those. Really nice comfy and fast rolling on tarmac and tracks, fun when it gets damp or muddy. 700x50mm
I've also got some WTB Nano's that are good in mud and rockier terrain, but noticeably slower on tarmac.
Those Honey Badgers are £12.99 at Banana Industries - https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/collections/tyres/products/kenda-honey-badger-xc-pro-29-x-2-05-tubeless-ready-rrp-44-99
They've also got Vittoria Terrenos at £20 (great tyres) if you can squeak in a 2.1" - https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/collections/tyres/products/vittoria-terreno-29x2-1-xcr-black-g2-0
They are good deals on GravelKings too, so worth a look.
I like my Goodyear Connectors. £40 here in black or tan

.
It really does depend on the terrain. Gravelkings are not great where I cycle, fine if it’s all gravel or tarmac not good on mud at all. I find Pirelli Cinturatos are really good on mixed terrain, mine are 47mm wide. They may be overkill for you though.
The Shwalbe G-Ones say they're 50mm but they're closer to 47.
Just had a couple of ride on Gravelkings SK on my Camino. Much better than the 40mm Pirellis. Must say, I find that the Camino is a hard ride compared to some bikes I have. They blow up as 49.9mm on some 25mm inner width rims. Seem pretty good on slippery clay mud here in the FoD but then I usually ride a slick rear as they last longer.
I have gravel kings in 50c on my a gravel bike.
Great for everything except slick mud, where they have me off and walking.
Used Conti Race Kings in 29x2.0 on the Badger Divide and they were great 👍
