My wife watches this and I can’t for the life of me figure out how or why the vicar bloke is always at the murder scene with Robson Green and it’s seemingly normal!
I’ve just seen Robson remove a pellet from a body so he must be one of those detective/pathologist types and now the vicar is in the interview room with Robson interviewing a suspect!!
In the early ones they worked harder at excuses for this. But I can’t remember what they were
Nice meadows there, though…
Not only does he do interviews but he also has access to all parts of the police station - including the top man's girlfriend!
I have seen Grantchester and I did wonder why the vicar has Jessica Fletcher like levels of access to crime scenes and suspects but I couldn't be bothered to ask.
I'm currently sitting watching series 1 of Call the Midwife and there's a nun sitting there casually knitting and stuffing a bunch of gollywogs.
Just watched the 2nd in the new series. THe cop lets the priest go into the house to talk to the witness first and unaccompanied, full access to everything etc.
More annoyingly, if you ignored the fact he wasn't another copper, it used to be reasonably light hearted entertaining simple murder mystery. Suddenly 3/4 of the show is about who love who, how much, what their relationship is and will be etc and by the way there was a murder but back to the relationships....
They seem to do it to all shows. The first few series are drama and story and then it just becomes relationships and people problems.
