Its all about the price point. Charge the same but make it smaller. 🙁

Jamba is correct, people are more likely to continue to buy if it's a little smaller than if it's more expensive.

Yeah, saw some crap programme about chocolate a few weeks ago - price of chocolate means bars have shrunk, or have "bits" added to reduce the amount of choclit (those Marvellous Creations bars for example). Nothing to do with being healthier.

That's an outrage! I'm going to write to my MP... He's Scottish so it will matter.

It's a win-win for the confectionary companies.

*Googles*

Mars bar in 2008 - 62.5g
Mars bar in 2013 - 51g

That's quite a substantial drop...!

I had a Yorkie the other day and it seemed small. Or maybe my hands had gotten bigger?

No, I looked it up. Used to be a hearty 70g now a miserly 45g.

When I was a kid a Wagon Wheel was about a foot across. It took me a week to eat one. Now the're the size of buttons.

Bah!

Mars Bars boil my piss, they're physically bigger than they used to be but when I were a lad you could break the chocolate off the outside in chunks, peel the solid chewy caramel off the top and then get to grips with the hardest piece of nouget this side of a very hard chewy thing, if you put one in a sock you could knock out a cow..
Now they're just whipped up airy fairy wishy washy crap! bigger but less substantial., 🙁 bastards!

I miss maverick bars. When I used to be a supervisor in a warehouse years ago staff would bribe me with them to get out of certain tasks. Probably best they've gone, they'd be tiny now and have all the best bits removed.

The maverick bars that is, not the warehouse staff. Unless the warehouse is owned by Willy Wonka, but then chocolate based bribes would possibly result in some insane punishment / death.

Funkmasterp, those Mavericks bars were a work of art. Star bars are good and picnics but Maverick was King

Is now a good time to bring up Tizer's demise?

hmm, about 20% drop? must be due to Brexit.

I remember when Mars bars were 24p. Then they started creeping up to 25...26...then I missed the bit in the middle and they are now 60p!

Its still going isn't it? - I'm sure I had some the other week. In the staff canteen of a whisky distillery IIRC.
