Need Europe maops for my Satnav and seen them on torrent sites. Are they accurate / can they be trusted?

I [i]know someone[/i] that downloaded an set of up to date maps for his Ford satnav (DENSO).
They work perfectly though, he did have to get hold of a decent quality DVD+R to put them on, as the Tesco own brand one failed after a month.
