Afternoon All,

Just wanted some advice off anyone who has been to Silverstone for the GP, I am going down on Sunday to join a Stag Do, I have the choice of routes ie M1 OR M40. Is one preferable over the other to get to the track on the A43, I am camping on the M1 side at whittlebury.

I am setting off early, but heard that the traffic can be very bad..

Thanks for your help

Hi
Maybe not much help but.......last year we camped but on the M40 side and went into the site on Friday afternoon. No traffic what so ever!
Leaving on Sunday was a different matter but they opened up an exit at the far end of the site so it was easy to miss at least half the queue!

Driving in on Sunday morning this year and going to use the M40 side I think (my brother in law has the tickets/directions/know-how) but we will be leaving Dorking (M25 J9) at 6.30am to try to beat a little of the chaos.

Take some decent music and a drink....... it could be a long drag in!!

When I last went a couple of years ago traffic was fine getting in from the M40. Don't think I queued for more than 5mins. Getting out of the car park afterwards however was difficult, but once out of that I found the roads fine.

Probably arrived around 9am'ish from memory but we did take some of the smaller roads/single lane tracks when close to the circuit. We'd been on the Friday/Sat as well so had plotted a route in for Sunday.
