To all you overpaid/overworked/plain lazy types..

Has anyone resumed the services of their cleaner now that lockdown is easing? Are they wearing facemask etc?

Ours has texted saying she's back in action (or possibly desperate to get back to it, understandably) but we're not sure re Covid risk

Help! The bathroom is getting grubber as I type...

Ours has been back for two weeks, and we paid her 80% of her fees during lockdown to try to ease the impact on her. It's nice to be nice isn't it?

She's not wearing a mask, and we're in Central Scotland.

Ours is back, well she has been back home overseas for a holiday and to deal with a bereavement last week or so, but she was quite keen to get working again. Generally we’re not about when she’s working. It is indeed nice to be nice and it was appreciated.

Yep, been back for weeks now. paid her while she was not coming in. She also cleans for University, so we had her back as soon as she was back I there.
She always wears a mask anyway. She is from Thailand and it is more common there anyway as far as I can see. (or maybe we are just filthy and she has always thought it a good idea in our house)

Back for weeks. We have continued to pay so for the first 4 weeks she did extra hours to make up time (we didn’t ask or expect this). House looks good now, I hate cleaning!

Ours has been back since allowed. We go out with the dogs when they come so they have the house to themselves.

They stopped when we self isolated in March. I paid her for a month when she wasn’t coming but she refused to accept any more when I offered to pay a retainer. I think she got some S/E furlough money.

Ours has been back since the rules allowed in England. We weren’t in a rush but she really wanted to get out of her small flat - we continued to pay her throughout.

I WFH so we arrange it between meetings and I make sure I’m out the house. She doesn’t wear a mask, but after all she is cleaning.

We also had her partner come and plaster for us this week and I worked in the attic to keep out the way - we felt that the risk was relatively low in that they are the only household that has been in our house at any point in the last few months.

She was quite insistent on coming back as soon as allowed.
We had been paying her in full for the time she couldn’t, turns out a good chunk of her clients had dropped her and we were one of very few who’d offered to pay or similar.

Shit! When the gardener self isolated back in April I insisted our cleaner go trim the hedge maze in his stead as it was looking shabby. This has just reminded me that I’ve not seen him since.

It is a rather large maze and takes up the entire east quadrant of the grounds. I’ve just spoken with the butler and he neglected to provide the cleaner with a map. I’m livid. If we end up with two dead servants in six months I don’t know if I’ll be able to show my face at the Islington ball this year

I've had to make the wife redundant, luckily I furloughed her so HMG is paying for the housekeeping whilst she's in her notice period.

Ours are back and they can make our house cleaner in 2 hours than I could in a week.

Was my first thought - I know it's not the same thing
