After pressing the 'bid now' button on a popular auction site, i've got myself a Fiat Panda 100hp.
Collect it tomorrow and i'm excited about it! Should be a fun car and I also believe it will fit a bike inside!
A bike will easily fit inside
They're fun cars. People will mock, but you can have a lot of fun
Great little cars those, was looking for ages for something “small, more economical than our old Volvo and it has to have cup holders” was the spec from the wife. Got it down to a pick between a 100 or a swift. I wanted the Panda, she liked the swift. We compromised, she got the swift, but it had to be the Sport....
Put some pics up tomorrow 👍
When it first came out Evo magazine loved it iirc. Supposed to be a really nice little car.
It’s not far away from being the same size as a mk 1 golf gti
enjoy, they look like proper fun.
Just out of curiosity, how much did you nail it for? I’m needing to look for a replacement for my written off Octavia.
Not got a 100 but took the plunge on a 54 plate 1.2 with a full Fiat service history and a genuine 70000 miles on the clock for not a lot of money. Coming from a mid sized estate I wasn't sure how I was going to get on with it. I had driven the new one as a hire car but never the mk2. Apart from tip runs I don't miss the estate at all. I live in North Devon where the lanes are tight and it's the perfect tool for the job. I love it. I now find myself looking for a good 100hp as the 60 horses mine has got is somewhat lacking at times but it does only weigh 850kg and will sit at 70 on the motorway.
Got it. Nice drive back from Wolverhampton where I sat in lane 1 bumbling along at 60/70. Bit noisy on the motorway but it’s ok. Come off around Stafford and went cross country back to Stockport .
Good on the twisty stuff and had a pretty constant 40mpg - cost me £35 to fill it when it said it had 50 miles left on the range computer.
Its pretty spacious For what it is - has full leather, all receipts, FSH and all the little well known jobs done. For the age of the car the bodywork is pretty solid and the HPI was all ok!
overall I’m very pleased with it. Great fun to drive and I think will be cheap to run. My insurance was £159 for 12 months so that’ll do.
Once I figure how to attach a photo, ill do so.
James May also drives one, and Top gear or the other motoring programe gave the 4 x 4 top marks for driveability and performance off road.
Ha! I was sorely tempted by that very car, leather in Wolvo on t’bay narrows it down! Looks lovely. Hope you enjoy it!

V8 - yes the same one I expect! Great little motor.
Already spotted you're on the Bookface page, good source of help on there. We find ours far better on the motorway than we expected. Despite being our fun car, it's more economical than the sensible car, so we use it more than we thought we would.
@CountZero they generally go from about £2000 upwards, occasionally cheaper.
A friend of mine had one, I remember we got 2 bikes in it with a little fuss. It was basically like being a passenger on a skateboard, low and firm and kinda terrifying, brilliant wee car.
@countzero I got this one for £1700 on eBay.
Needs a service which I’ll book on Monday . Tax £190.00, insurance £159.00. Cheap so far and great fun.
Got a lift home in one today, surprisingly quiet ride
Bargain for that.
Cheers, I’m in a situation where I’m going to have to find a car pretty quickly, and I don’t have much to spend, I’d like a Panda 4x4, but I might end up with the first cheap car I can find. I might be able to get my Octavia back from the insurance company after it’s been written off, it’s only a crushed front wing and a small dent in the front door, drivability isn’t affected at all, so it’s a waiting game at the moment.
Had a quick look at Panda Cross 4x4’s for sale, and it looks like I might be able to find one between £2500 and £6000, so I might be able to sweet talk a loan from the bank without too much difficulty, I don’t have any available savings due to recent circumstances. If the insurance coughs up some dosh for my Octavia then that might be reduced a bit.
I was hoping to get something newer, like a CX-3 or -5, a Mokka or Sportage, but a Panda Cross 4x4 looks like a decent alternative. An older model will probably benefit from lower tax as well.
I had a love hate relationship with ours over the 6 years we had it. Wouldn’t have another. My Mini Cooper S Clubman was better in every single way.

have a picture of mine. Coming up to 6 years of happy motoring
