Was gifted a GoPro session at xmas, yet to use but off to bpw next week so thought would dig it out of the box, any recommendations for settings other than on? Is a 32gb card big enough for capturing a few downhill runs??

Plenty big enough, I use 1080 60fps on mine as editing 4k takes far too long.

This is comprehensive and where i started from settings wise. Short version 2.7k at 48fps is my default, and a 32gb card should be fine. Especially if you stop and start judiciously rather than leaving it running on the uplift etc. Battery is more likely to be a problem tbh.

If you're not interested in YouTubing the video, then 4K/30 works well to grab stills from but is likely to be too jerky to do anything else with. 1440p/60 would be my preferred setting.

Experiment before leaving, and make sure the camera records in all the modes you want as there's an irritating software glitch in the newer Sessions and Blacks that shows it as recording but doesn't save it to the card until the second attempt.

Leave it on GoPro colour, only shoot when there's loads of light (or stick it in night mode), and be prepared for complete and utter disappointment when you realise just how boring you look on camera when you play it back afterwards. 😉

I have no problems with using the camera (apart from the fact that it makes me look crap) but I really struggle getting it right on YouTube. There's always a major loss of quality, even after I followed all the guides. This was a super crisp 3.4GB file I uploaded this morning after following all the advice I could find.
I feel like giving up.
BTW the way, theres no action just me trying to set up my gimbal and find a way of stopping it moving when I go over bumps. Grippy washers finally solved that. 🙂

Thanks! That link really helped, daft as it sounds was getting worried about the quality but looks like it's only when streaming once downloaded it's pretty good!

Just checking I've got this right, I can use the app to setup the camera, position and record settings then switch the wifi off on phone and camera and just one button press to record as and when?
