Do you reckon these are fake? Lots of positive feedback but the latest feedback questions them.

Actually for work not me, but I imagine I'll take it out once in a while if I ever doing anything interesting enough to warrant filming! I guess Handtec might be a safer supplier.

I see one neutral feedback questioning the authenticity of the camera.

That's out of about 1000.

If it's much cheaper, just order it and if you think it's a fake you can return it easy enough.

I bought one from there, registered it no problem on the gopro site. All seems good. Works with gopro app etc etc.

Great - many thanks.

Just read that some of the early 3+ had a focus issue that was resolved. I guess these might be early stock with the early issue...maybe...

They'll be parralel imports, totally fine.

They look good.

What's a parallel import?

Grey imports, UK dealers are not allowed to sell these on ebay or amazon, but apparently US dealers can dump their stock into the UK.

All good 'til you have a warranty claim.

May also get stung for import duty and VAT as they're not EU.

They seem to be dispatching in the UK?

If you're looking for a cheaper Gopro with all the trimmings, I've pretty much decided to sell mine, it's a used-once Gopro 3 Black (original, not 3+) with extra mounts, tripod, spare batteries and charger, chest harness, and so on. I upgraded from my old HD to see if it rekindled the fun...

I bought a 3+ silver from these guys and it turned up in an Amazon box with Amazon paperwork. I updated it recently with the latest firmware so they are legit, I read some of the dodgy ones have the serial number removed but mine is there inside the battery compartment.

The critical word being "seem". Feedback says that the unit had to be returned to the US for warranty.

£199 on Sportpursuit 'with full British warranty' HTH

Silver edition, and not the Plus version.

To return to my own post - I ordered the gopro I linked to in the first post. Great communication from them - arrived in less than 48hrs from purchase.

I've registered it and it all seems fine & legit. I suspect it is a grey market import but as aspullite said it arrived in an amazon box with amazon paperwork and tracked out of their north London warehouse.

It's officially for work, but in the spirit of 'familiarising myself with it' I'll have to get some extra mounts for using myself.
