Any opinions on these? Ok so people want to categorise stuff.. so let them make FOLDERS fergawdsake!
This must be for the default setting, as don't have them with priority inbox.
Not too keen on them yet as I tend to prefer to file in folders after I have categorised them, but I dare say my lassitude will allow me to accept them later on.
Can you delete them if you get bored? I don't really have any social networks and the promotions stuff strikes me as being another word for spam.
Think that feature gets switched on for different people at different times.
I just clicked the "X" to he right of the tabs, and deselected everything, so it goes back to normal.
Some of the automatic guessing of which tab to put stuff under worked OK, but others were a random guess, and not where I'd have put them.

yeah but half the email from friends ended up in that tab too.
only one that kind of worked properly was the social networks one, which is going to be all the email from friends that's come via farcebook/twiter etc., thereby putting friends stuff in 3 separate tabs.

Move them to the correct tab, and the via the magic of wizards, the system will learn to put them in the correct tab next time.

as above, drag mail between tabs, or even create your own to drag to.
I think they will be useful if you put in the time to sort them out. Especially since this is the best filtering option we have from google, the standard 'filter' is far to cumbersome!

Although the 'Promotions' tab would be better labelled as 'Junk mail'. Its not spam, but its mostly stuff I'm not interested in.

Emails from dogs go into my "Social" folder, along with those from AdultFriendFinder.
A "dogging" folder would just tidy things up a little.
Was easier just to go back to 1 inbox, then I know where everything is. CBA to "teach" it where to put stuff. Junk gets filtered anyway.
Can always turn it back on later.
edit: got a few filters set up already to tag/label things anyway, so pretty easy to identify email based on that.

ha, forgot about this thread. Yeah you cant, id only read the bumf, it said you could add new ones and assumed that meant 'of your choosing' not 'from our list'.
Dont know why your all getting so worked up, plenty of false advice given by you lot in the past, most of it regarding more important stuff than internet filters 😆
