Anyone running 2 of these in a stereo pair, and are they any good?
We have a small lounge that does really warranty much spend on audio, and a pair of these seen to fit the bill for our almost exclusively Spotify/TuneIn usage.
Would like 2 speakers for a bit more stereo separation as I've already had to give up my beloved NAD separates, I don't really want a one box thing.
We've got a Gen1 home in another room already so know the deal with the interface etc. Reviews seem pretty decent, but there aren't many of them being used in a pair configuration.
Have the same question about 4th gen echo
Really impressed with the one I've got, but in a big conservatory I'm thinking 2 would be great
How about a pair of IKEA Symfonisk bookshelf speakers? They don't have the Google assistant built in but can be controlled by any Google assistant device.
The ikea speakers apparently have a bit more low end than the Google nest audio. And they're part of the sonos system, if you ever wanted to go down that rabbit hole 😁
having the old ones and the max i wouldnt hesitate to grab a couple if needed. the max is ok but a little bass heavy. i think the smaller home sounds better all round
aye, I've got a pair in the living room, pretty decent sounding speakers, much much better in a stereo pair. Would recommend, sound good to my ears anyhow. I'm not a mad audiophile though.
Only issue I have with them is that in pairing mode they have a long lag if you have any ambitions to use them for video, I did initial want to use them as speakers for a computer, but the lag in paired mode is about 1-2 seconds, so unusable. Other wise pretty happy with them though.
Also have a stereo pair in the living room, and they sound perfectly decent for Spotify and radio.
So cheap it was almost rude not too.
Agree with lag if used with other audio sources - they are not a soundbar replacement.
But on the plus side, you can link them to the speaker in the other room to get same feed across them all (with living room in stereo). Honestly easier than the sonos alternative, and on the right day / special offer, 25% of the price.
