I set it up a few months back to ease mini me into having their own phone at big school and it's worked fine on both phone & tablet since...
... until yesterday when it's only half come out of school downtime. There's no usual "this device cannot be used at this time" message but all apps are still restricted. I am however still getting notifications about when they leave home and arrive at school plus I can still send a find my phone alarm so it's not like we've lost all connectivity between parent & child technology.
I've tried every single combination of turning the settings on and off at my end as well as turning the devices on and off but nothing seems to make any difference. The fact that it's acting the same on phone & tablet makes me think it's an overall software issue, not a settings one as they couldn't have changed phone and tablet at the same time.Â
Any thoughts?
We've been using it for a few years but never had that issue.
On child's devices are you not getting the option to bypass the lock by signing in as the parent?
We do have that option via either password or parent code but it doesn't do anything. It seems to think it's locked and unlocked at the same time so we can't unlock an unlocked system.Â
I did wonder if there was a time sync problem in that perhaps the server is saying it's in the unlocked hours but the phone says it's in locked hours but again it's identical on tablet and phone so very unlikely to be a device specific setting.Â
I'm hopeful that it just fixes itself as easily as it broke itself as up until then it was great but we all know that's not how technology works.Â
