Off to Buxton tonight to see a comedy gig at the Opera House (Miles Jupp, how very Radio 4). If we were to grab something to eat beforehand, where would anyone recommend? Won't have looooads of time, so need somewhere with decently quick service, and ideally near the Opera House to save messing about.
Pizza Express on the corner. 2 minute walk through to the Opera House.

Coach House chip shop is one of the better ones in the area.
Or there's the Tap House right around the corner for a little bit more upmarket - can't imagine they'd be that busy on a Tuesday night.
Can't vouch for the food - might be a bit chainy - but the pub across the road was busy when we wrnt to see the Banff show lastvweek.
The Old Clubhouse?

Not what you want to hear but I'd recommend booking about two weeks ago as you might well find everywhere is busy. Call asap if you do choose somewhere, we've previously done the same as you and got the very last table in Pizza Express (we watched the couple after us get turned away)
Having said that, we ate at Saint Moritz on Saturday before watching Giovanni, and it was excellent. 5pm was the last table they could offer us booking two weeks before, anyone who turned up on spec after we sat down was turned away. Call them now and book in if you can
Komthai is really good food.

Ah, fair enough. Guess there's always the chippy.
Cheers for the ideas, any more?
There’s a Wetherspoons within a very short distance. I’ve eaten at the pub opposite the Opera house but it does get very busy when there’s anything on. A lovely venue, have a lovely time!
If you get desperate there's a Wetherspoons or a Morrisons which we've eaten at when camping down the road 😃
It can get busy in the area when there's something on at the Opera House so book Pizza Express online then you've got it in your pocket.
Really close by - Lonestar is pretty good if you like Tex-Mex style food. As has been said, the Clubhouse next door to the Opera House is quite nice but personally I feel it's a bit tired. Okay for a quick bite though.
Simply Thai and Ithaca (Greek) are both nearby and good but probably won't tick the speed box.
Trudge up to the Market Place and you've got a couple of Italians that I haven't tried so can't comment and the Kings Head for more standard bar food in an underwhelming atmosphere. Go a little further and there's the Taj Mahal if you want typical but tasty Indian cuisine and beyond that, a Sushi bar (haven't been).
Around the shopping centre area you've got Kwie Lin chinese which is great food but feels like you're sitting in their personal dining room and probably won't be quick, and the Sacro Lounge which has quite a varied menu.
All are within five mins walk of the Opera House.
If it were me, I'd do Lonestar and Sacro Lounge ... but get Pizza Express booked as a failsafe.
Ate at Luchianos Italian place when we were in Buxton last November and it was a superb meal.
