in a Ā few weeks Im plodding back from scotland to the midlands, Ā and need a recommendation for a Great pub that I can park my camper at ?

good food, dog friendly, good beer ?

it'll be my birthday so don't want to roll up somewhere that will disappoint, and want to be able to celebrate with a few pints

not interested in a campsite and walking to a local pub, as the Mrs is on crutches

was thinking keswick/carlisle/ Ā  M74 / M6

anyone recommend anywhere ?

Skyeside Camping park has 5 hard standing spots for vans that are members of the caravan club just a few yards from the on site pub. Only ever been there in the teaming rain but seemed nice enough.

Church House Inn in Torver near Coniston is very nice and has a caravan site out back.Ā  Not exactly Keswick/Carlisle but sits at the foot of Walna Scar for a quick bit of MTB excellence.
