Does such a thing exist? Going to be without a kitchen for potentially up to a week (hopefully not that long), so despite friend very kind offers, is there anything 'good' in the microwave meal dept? As the microwave is all we can definitely count on having.
To be honest I've lived on them in the past when single, but when your single anything hot you can stuff between two bit of bread in less than 5 minutes with naff all washing up is great....

EDIT: Wondering about which supermarket produces the 'best' not specific meals..

We lived without a working cooker for over a year!

I recommend adding a George Foreman Grill and/or a steamer to your arsenal. They can be used anywhere and produce good grub.

M&S do tasty micro meals. Look fir the ones that have a vent on top. They effectively steam the food in the packet and we found they were (relatively speaking) the most edible.

Some of the Tesco Finest stuff is very nice and Sainsbury's do some decent ones too in the chilled, rather than frozen areas.

Generally, the chilled stuff seems better than the frozen stuff.

anything with lots of sauce should be good as it would stop the meat from drying up. there's always soup with crusty bread and butter.

M&S not too shabby IME. Have you a microwave or oven? I lived an embarrassingly long time without a kitchen, but had both, helped a lot.

Cheers for the replies, yes we have a decent microwave & a steamer (hadn't really thought about that). Though I think the main issue will be finding space to cook.. Kitchen will be out of bounds, every other room is filled with the kitchen/dinning room kit, surprising how much stuff you have when you need to empty these two rooms (soon to be one)

was meant to be without a kitchen for 4 weeks, 10 weeks later I'm a dab hand ont he camping stove (two rings and a grill) and the slow cooker. Infact I'm seriously wondering why have a kitchen when the space could be used for a dart board, pool table and table tennis table.

I detest all microwave and ready meal muck... but I was given an innocent veg pot for lunch this week, and it was actually quite nice. Indian daal with chickpeas and fresh spinach. Tasty.

the best microwave meals are the ones you made earlier and put in the freezer

Scrambled eggs, beans, toast (assuming you have a toaster) or even, and for the sake of being flamed, microwave porridge, a favourite late night post ride snack, or even soup.

Sainsbury's do some healthy eating ones, Paella, Singapore Noodles, Roast Chicken, Hoisin Duck etc - all in the chilled cabinet at about £3.50 each they are pretty good.

If such a thing exists it will be found in Waitrose or M&S.

The Markies ones are called Steam Cuisine apparently.

Also adding some of your own fresh veg to microwave meals massively improves them.

Dunno where in the country you are but when I was in Surrey there was a chain of shops called Cook, they had ready meals of the highest quality and were absolutely delicious!!
