Just back home after my fourth admission to hospital for heart trouble in 15 months. The first 3 for heart attacks (one major, 2 less so). This time I was told that it might have been another heart attack but it was put down on the discharge letter as chest pain with troponin rise to 728 (this is the first that didn't result in stenting).

Not much point to the post really other than I'm féling a bit low and nervous. Over the last year and a bit I seem to have been endlessly trying to regain some fitness and get back to cycling and failing. This last episode seems to have, in part, been precipitated by a turbo trainer I bought to try & build up my confidence that I could go out on the real bike without anything happening 🙄

All the best mate. I'm booked in for an ECG tomorrow after chest pains on Friday along with fluttering since. Joy.

My thoughts are with you, it sounds as though you have been through the wringer.

My story isn't anywhere near as bad as yours, but a concussion picked up in the kickboxing ring was misdiagnosed - leading to emergency surgery 5 weeks later to remove the (by now, massive / 18 hours from dying) bleed.

Fast forward 15 months I still can't train, any attempt to get fit is shut down immediately by my body.

Hang on in there mate, take it a day at a time and hopefully one day we'll be fighting fit again.

@sc-xc I can't see why you say your story's not as bad as miné, it sounds incredibly traumatic for you and pretty scary for those close to you too.

All the best to you and I really hope that things start to improve for you soon!

Sry to hear that PJay. Does heart disease run in your family? I'm always nervous because one of my grandfathers died at about 50 and one Uncle on that side of the family (Dad's side) had a heart attack in his early 40s. My Dad, however, is now 81 and has had no problems.

Awful PJ.

Time to just take it all in and take it easy for a while mate. You've been through a whole world of emotions enduring all that.

I don't think I've ever "worked" as hard on a bike as I have on a turbo with Zwift. I take real world cycling much easier. Trouble with real world cycling is I also crash a lot.lol

Perhaps you went a bit too hard a bit too soon mate? I can imagine that's very easy to do. Obviously the Docs will advice but I'm sure the biking will return and Spring is just around the corner too.

All the best buddy.

Healing vibes. Not sure what more I can say. A couple of health wobbles recently myself have made me acutely aware of how shit being ill really is.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Still feels a bit hurty today but apparently all my main arteries are now open so hopefully things will ease off in time.
