We're off to The Deep on Saturday and fancy a chippy tea to park up and look at the sea.
Any recommendations for chippy and view spot?
Brid?
It's not the sea, it's a big muddy river. The sea is about 15 miles away. No idea on chippies tbh there not much along the sides of the river.

Brid?
This is the current plan
I was going to mention Withernsea then remembered I've only been once and it was like a ghost town.
Brid?
Hornsea.
Whiteheads at Hornsea. Best chippy in East Yorks.
What ^ said. Worth the drive.

We preferred Deep Blue in Brandesburton but there’s also one in Beverley.
The Deep is awesome! Enjoy.
All the old stomping grounds! I grew up in cottingham. Back to OP, Chippy in hornsea is good.
Don’t go to Withernsea, really. Hornsea is the place.
Cave Street chippy off Beverley Road was a great chippy when I was at Uni there and still seems to get great reviews. Meets the criteria in your thread title but is a long way from the sea. Enjoy the Deep it's an amazing place and if you've not been to Hull before the old Town is worth a visit - my favourite street name is the Land of Green Ginger.
That’s local’ish for me, Bridlington has 149 chippy and they were voted best chippy a few years ago, a few mins drive from the seafront too. Nearly always queueing out the door on weekends.
Don’t make the mistake of just getting some right by the sea as they’re usually crap I find, I can vouch for this one if you did decide to go to Brid https://m.facebook.com/149Fishandchips/
AdamT, I grew up in leconfield….how fun is it trying to find mountain biking around that area? 🤣
The Frying Farmer in Aldborough (between Hornsea and Withernsea) is really good, and has a sit in option

When folk ask questions like this, do they not realise how big Hull (insert town) actually is?
And then folk recommend places to eat an hour away.

Do they have a sea view?

The sea is about an hour away from West Hull, longer if the bridges are up 😉

I'm still in the room you know!
Course, the criteria of "good chippy" and "good view" suggest a possible venn of possibilities.
Hornsea looking 👌
Is Bob Carvers on Whitefriargate still about? If so its the best chippy in the world....or at least it was when I grew up in 'ull until about 25 years ago.
Bob Carvers fell to covid and stayed closed. The chippy on Cave St is one of the best, no sea view though. You could find a chippy in Hessle and drive down to the foreshore. You'd be under the bridge which is niceish and close to the A63 when it's time for home.
In Hull if you weren’t going to a chippy you can park in St Stephens car park then walk across the road to a place called HOH (House of Hammond) where Hammonds used to be and they’ve turned it into a foody and shopping place. I had a burger and parmesan truffle fries from there the other day! Hull has massively come on with it being city of culture recently, another great shout is near the Marina a converted Fire Station that does tasty burgers etc…. That area has lots of great places to eat and Its walkable from The Deep too, the street is called Humber street and the place is called Thieving Harrys.
Happy to advise if you need anything more
Oh yeah thieving Harry’s we went there once last time we visited hull. It was ok but not a chippy.
I wasn’t actually serious about brid by the way.
If we are talking an hour’s drive from hull @pook could be at home and may as well go to two steps on sharrow vale
Good shout on Marina restaurants/area: Hull has come on a lot! On local chippy, Cave St gets my vote, but I grew up nearby. Tbh though, if visiting The Deep, stay in the Marina or head into Old Town.
