im bored of all the American crap that's about now and want to watch some decent British films. Around the same lines as Layer Cake and Snatch etc.

Snatch, but you may have to watch it twice to get the full effect
In the Loop, but warm up with some "The Thick of it" which will be looked at in the same vein as Black Adder and Brass Eye in years to come!! Armando Ianucci is a genius, or is Peter Capaldi the genius as Malcolm Tucker!!!

another shout for Twin Town - so funny and yet So so Dark..

also Circus - gangster movie with a twist (got slated by the citics but I liked it) John Hannah and Famke Yansen oh and Eddie Izzard

An Ungentlemanly Act - about the Argies invasion of the Falklands - very very good film (i think a BBC for TV movie)

Anything by Shane Meadows is usually worth watching. This Is England ws the last one I saw. Pretty good.

Also Michael Winterbottom films, particularly 24 Hour Party People.
