Just finished reading The Big Short about the origins of the global financial crisis and it's fascinating, alarming, mind boggling. Michael Lewis tells a great story and explains exactly how we came to be in this mess and lays out the perversity of the situation very clearly. It really is astonishing the way the system conspired within itself to bring the world to its knees to line a few pockets to an exorbitant extent.
Well worth reading I'd say.
And definitely points to bankers being, well, bankers.
