Yay nay to, can I get a bike in the back? (with wheels fitted & seat[s] down)
Looking for a car that will actually fit my bike in, like my old model focus estate, without going tank sized like the Mondeo
Otherwise, good cars? Looking at a 1.9Se
ok maybe the full bike in the back is a pipe dream, but any owner feedback?
Comparing with a focus estate
Hmmm, maybe, can't say I've tried it. Certainly managed fine with front wheel off. iirc ours is about 1.5m from boot to seats.
We have a 1.9TDI SE. Owned one for 3 years, only car, commute with it, holiday with it (2 kids and a dog), etc...never had an issue outside of general servicing. Not that much higher than a normal Golf but does seem higher and more spacious when in it which is good for the kids on long journeys.
Been looking into changing car and the plus is on the list.. what sort of mpg do you get nuke?
I had a look at the Golf Plus , but couldn't justify the price. I was looking to buy a new car and had a few on my shortlist.
I ended up ordering a new Skoda Fabia Scout 1.6 diesel.
About to take delivery on 1st March.
Skoda had a deal on whereby there was 0% vat , which made the decision over the Golf Plus very easy.
Also had 50% deposit with two years interest free payments.
Considering I was looking to buy with no part ex and the Skoda deal it was stacked in favour of the Skoda.
Golf is slightly better finished, but the deal I got was very good.
Skoda Scout is your other choice, not sure if the deal is still on though.
Bearing in mind I don't tend to drive too 'economically' and we often have a roofrack fitted (For bikes) and possibly a roof box fitted on holidays, we tend to get 45mpg (When were doing urban commuter miles) to 55mpg (Longer drives if I'm trying to be a bit more careful) although that is based on the on-board computer. Basically a full tank (£65ish) will get us between 450-500miles
