Good luck to him.
Hasn't stw flamed him already?
I don't know, if he's doing it on a 27.5er, most probably.
mind it would make the tarmac come alive.
Well it looks like a lot of what was being complained about regarding his website last time has been rewritten, and now reads a lot, lot better. Whilst still asking for much the same, it certainly encourages people to want to help now. Good luck to him, he'll probably need it!
He now has a SPOT page so you can see where he's just been and keep a track of his mileage. You can also find links to the two American challengers too.

204.74 mi in the bag today
Neither of the Americans have got going yet....
Does anyone know what route Steve intends to take? Today he just sort of meandered about a bit. Presumably he could do that same route 365 times?
Interesting to see his SPOT claiming 204.74 miles as he is claiming 222 on his Facebook page.

SPOT's only log a position every few minutes, so unless you're riding a very long straight road it'll always under read by quite a bit.

Strava says 222.

Yes, he has routes planned all over the country to various hosts (despite the STW ranterati he got shedloads of offers). He is also planning to do a load of audaxes in order to qualify for Paris-Brest-Paris. But Jan-Feb in the main he will be riding around the Milton Keynes area close to his home.
Today's route was odd as he was lined up to do a big send off at a club 10 in the morning. But Steve being a bit mad decided to set out at 12:01am and so rode around a bit before getting to the 10. He then rode to Witney for some scran and meandered a bit to get the miles before heading home.
The exact mileage can be seen on Strava and the UMCA accept that, it's uploaded here as rightly pointed out Trackleaders can only ever be approximate as the gap is 2.5 mins between each position.
