Just epic.

If we didn't have a freshly cooked Full English in work on a Saturday the camping table would already be in the car. 🙂

A quarter of an hour watching a Bowton fat lad stuffing his face? I'm out.

Cookies look good, mind.

Bolton and Farnworth. Aren’t they in the Midlands?

Don't they? 😀 Sadly, my blood sugar levels insist that's a road down which I no longer stroll.

One thing I've got into over lockdown is how awful most takeaways are compared to real food.
Shimla Spice is a notable exception.
It's cooked fresh, they'll leave out the salt if you ask and the veggie dishes are ace.
Far better than Usha from personal experience.

The Kettledrum near us is pretty good, but the real gem is The Bay Horse in Roughlee. Exceptional - We've won over £500 in vouchers at their pub quiz over the past couple of years and their food is pretty much perfect.

STFU, OK?

If it wasn't for us wanting to be involved with the grandkids we'd be there.
You know how lucky you are.

The grandkids would love the beaches when they visit.

They do mate, they do. 🙂
It's so odd that some of the best places in the UK are so peaceful.

It’s not even halfway up GB, so the southern half or maybe midlands at best...

KLF reckons it’s the North

Though they were lacking oversight with Knutsford and Harrogate. Artistic license.

I have friends in the South who think that Herefs & Glocs are ‘The North’

Luckily for all the fast food takeaway culture got a massive boost with Brexit + Covid so we can all of us soon enough resemble ‘proper’ brits.

Who am I kidding? I’m already a fat, balding, surly-looking doughboy with a bad line in perma-sarcastic banter coming out of my grease-port. How soon is now!

My OH is still in awe of the fact you can get takeaway roast dinners up north, from an actual takeaway, not toby carvery via deliveroo.

Peter Kay made a quick removal of himself from the limelight a couple of years back and nothing much has been hear since...however, listening to that guy in the first video, you could easily be mistaken for it being Peter Kay - obviously it isn't him as he looks nothing like Peter Kay but sounds very similar.

Geographic "c of g" is in Forest of Bowland (exact location moves depending on which islands you include). And Bolton is south of there.

An aside - Why is the forum showing your profile name (Pete) instead of your username? It's a bit screwy innit. Might wanna do the report thing
[edit] of course it's not now I've typed that. Guess someone knows then.

Ah, come on. A fella sat at his own camping chair and folding table in a back street in Farnworth, eating a full English out of a tin tray? What's not to love about that?

Only if you include a whole other country.

that bloke could be any age between 20 and 60, I honestly can't tell. Is that what "The North" does to you? 😳

Yeah if you zoom in on Google maps between Blackburn and Clitheroe, that’s where they’ve put the Great Britain marker (unless there’s a village there called Great Britain!)
