Never used any of these type of sites but my daughter has been given a fantastic educational opportunity and we need a bit of help on the funding side from friends and relatives. Am I right that Go fund me is the best site to use and that the costs are 2.5% of the total raised plus 20p per transaction?

I'm totally disappointed with the content of this thread given the title 🙁

Especially as it started "Never used any of these type of sites, but my daughter..."

(comma added!)

If it's friends and relatives why not just hand out a PayPal address for people to donate to? You could even get here to do a basic wordpress items too so that she explains the opportunity and how it will be a positive thing etc.

I assumed you could put a load of guff on the go fund me site to explain the opportunity?

Couple of businesses want to donate and apparently go fund me is compatible with their audit system whilst a random paypal address is not

Ok fair enough on the business front I was thinking PayPal gift avoids that 2.5% loss
