[Closed] Gnocchi as bait for Carp?

Any Carp anglers out there? Has anyone used Gnocchi as bait?
We have some that is just over its used by date and I thought that it looks perfect as Carp bait, maybe dipped in some flavour enhancer. It's mainly potato and flour so should be safe for fish.
Anyone else tried using it?
Cheers

I expect it's safe right up until you embed a sharp piece of metal in it, then it becomes a bit of a problem!

I used to fish for chub using those 'foam strawberry' children's sweets so why not?

But TBF, gnocchi 'just over' its use-by date is perfectly fit for human consumption - absolutely no need to worry about that.

You can catch carp on almost anything, they're pigs with fins. Having said that I'm sure they'll be far more effective baits.

Cannot see why not. Mud pigs are greedy. How soft are they? OK to hair rig?

Should work , you won’t know unless you try. A few drops of garlic guard could add to the attraction. This works well on chickpeas.

Thanks guys, Will give it a go. Will cook them first to soften them up, should still be ok to mount on a hair rig and try a little flavour enhancer. Cheers

Same goes for baked beans, peanut butter, canned chicken, sardines, ketchup, pasta sauce, garlic sprinkles, and mustard. I know this because I found the big box of emergency supplies I hoarded away when the plague started. Canned chicken needs flavour enhancing though, garlic sprinkles improves it, might be good carp bait, or just rat food or something.

canned chicken

I don't think that's fit for consumption as it drops off the conveyor belt.

My experiment, with a small sample size, suggests that it's non-toxic. If you put enough garlic sprinkle on it, it tastes like garlic sprinkle.

garlic sprinkles

The least popular of the ice cream toppings.

I wouldn't boil it, likely to fly off in the cast. Keep us updated on whether you get one.

As above, I'd hair rig it as it is - don't boil it first.

Garlic is surely underused.

I've used them a few times with success. Don't boil them or they tend to float, unless you want a pop-up that is. They also take food colouring well and take a good glug of hemp oil or garlic oil.
You could also try giving them a coat of marmite before the cast.

If you travel in Asia for a bit, you'll find far worse treats than a spoonful of garlic sprinkles.

Judging by some of the above posts, carp have a better and more varied diet than I do.

What's it for? Fishing I mean...Is it just so you don't need to be at home?

why do people who fish always look so sad as well, like this,

Have you tried deep frying it in lard, sprinking it with salt, and serving it with bacon, fried eggs, onions and tomatoes? Or just deep frying it in lard and sprinkling it with salt? Or just frying salt in lard?

Edit: Also, drinking several pints or beer or the equivalent in wine, etc. relaxes you while cooking so you can experience the flavours without the constraints of expectations of established genres. This how I discovered the joys of fried salt. Also fried cheese. Anything tastes good if you fry it with salt and cheese and drink it with bber.
