Do any of the usb or possibly 240v plug in gnatt / midge / fly zappers actually work or are they all Amazon's future landfill?
I'm wanting a UV one rather than something that's going to emit {stuff}.
MrsRNP thanks you in advance for sorting something I was supposed to do weeks ago.
I once read that the zappers can be counter productive because they attract midges etc into the area.
Daft question, not encountered any this year - our first year doing lots of camping, but we've been early season, April/May. The 'spray' went in the 'camping shoot' box, but three North Wales visits haven't seen seen any early on (one by a lake, one by a river, the other on coast).
I do remember camping many years ago with family friends and we were hunted by the buggers in the evenings, locally just 15 miles from home, hear Hayfield, but near a river.
Got Smidge on the ready for the next camp in July but its near Swindon.
I’m wondering the same thing, inevitably you have to open the door at some point and the bugs enter. Deterrent is pretty pointless, I always liken it to that disgusting stuff that got put on your nails if you bit them. Besides how do they know it’s gross inside before I open the door, there will be some that enter and then I’d equally like something they go towards and then fry! Otherwise I end up sitting with a wet wipe squashing them off the windows.
I've had a fly zapper (mains one) for years (for when I have the windows open a lot in summer). Seems to do a decent job although a moth getting nuked overnight is often loud enough to wake me up
I bought one from Lidl this week. It only works if the room is dark in order for the light to attract them but we could hear it zapping away last night

Dark room, open the microwave door, leave for a few minutes to fill, wholesale nuking for 30 seconds 🙂
