I was all set you slag off ZZ Top, but they're actually alright. They could do with the bass player actually playing the base, though; rather than playing the lines on a keyboard.

The drummer seems to have got hair dye on his face when touching up the beards.

I only like concerts in the dark, but there's s certain magic when you get that sunset/twilight combo at Glastonbury

I'm a big fan but this is a bit underwhelming.

edit: ZZ Top I mean.

edit: so far.

edit: hang on, my toes are starting to twitch.

ZZ Top were rifftastic, as expected. Dusty is recovering from a shoulder injury, and so having trouble with his bass.

The Reverend Willy G still turns out some superb guitar work, and that guitar he was playing was stunning!

Got Muse set to record to watch later on as well.

Yep, he can play some, but not all of a gig, so he's got a custom bass keyboard set up. Complete with keyring!

Brilliant throughout the early-mid naughties, then turned to sh1t IMO.

Was a big fan 10 years ago.

They don't contain quite as much ****ery as the classic prog bands, or even modern bands, such as Tool, but you could probably describe them as a commercial prog band.

I liked that Christine & the Queens woman gyrating on the grass.
But that reggae band? What was the point in that? It's like a rock band coming on and playing Bill Haley covers. ugh.
(that's all I've seen of it btw)

White Denim on the red button. Awesome as always.

Never heard of them but caught last 2 songs on iplayer - was captivated, they are something special I'm quite gobsmacked by it! Underworld atm, making me smile a lot. Karl's in fine voice.

Always been a bit of Queen in the newer Muse stuff. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I do prefer the earlier work. As said before, Bellamy is a quite astonishing guitarist at times, especially considering he sings too.

They sound HUGE.

Thanks for the tip on Underworld, I was waiting for them to come on scheduled TV after Muse. Cannot wait to see them at the end of July. Glad you liked White Denim.

Not my cup of tea but that George Garrett(?) is a very talented fella. Similarly, not my usual, but Roisin Murphy had a certain, if nuts, presence

You describe Muse as soulless and then go on to mention Underworld in the same sentence? Weird.

James opening Glastonbury with Tim Booth on form as usual, Underworld just now-Dark Train and Rez , have seen them both already this year but would have loved to have been there today.

Will watch Foals tomoz as they have some good energy live from what I've seen of them previously

Very well... but i want to discuss different topic. bellow this,

All the above mouse baits can be used to kill mouse, rats and rodents in home, garage and farm without any additional equipment and Also, these baits can be used as best bait for mouse traps to lure the mouse to the rats and mouse into the trap using their food grade ingredients and strong smell.

Not sure if Muse would fall for a Mouse trap.

So far I've only seen the last couple of minutes of Zed Zed Top, I couldn't see anything else on the red button that was interesting last night, like James, who I was never that interested in until I saw them at the IoW Festival last year and realised what a fine live band they were, and how many really good songs they'd released over the years.
Tim Booth does a great line in crowd surfing, although they may not allow that at Glastonbury.

+1. It's bland, MOR stuff. Obvious why it appeals to a large demographic, but somehow doesn't feel right for Saturday night at Glastonbury.

Barney never could sing. Doesn't stop his flat, deadpan vocals working bizarrely well in the context of their music.

However, if he wasn't in there already, can we add Stephen Morris to that best drummers thread from a while back?

Man you guys are easily pleased.
I think I'm yet to hear a good mixing, the sound seems all over the place on every set. Have the BBC screwed up here?

Muse, sounded drawn out and quickly got bored - as usual.
Adele, pfft, whatever. Is she doing some kind of an impression between songs, or is that genuinely her personality?
New Order, took me a while to get into it - probably till Tempation. Again, sound was a bit crap.
Mercury Rev - better, uplifting, good effort.
Underworld - FFS, One irritating hit massively overplayed 20 years ago. Give us a rest.
Foals - good performance, sound a bit all over the place again.
James - I'm a huge fan but Tim seemed to struggle last night. I've heard him complain of voice problems this year, hope he's ok.
