There was a feature on her on the bbc show. How rare and brave and innovative she is. Can’t see it myself. Bjork, she ain’t.

Some bass vibration from Neil's bassist. Camera is shaking big style!

Tried a bit of Raye, seemed like a poor man's Amy Winehouse, flipped over and Beth Gibbons was good, as expected.

Really enjoying Beth Gibbons' set.

Quite liked Wunderhorse when i caught up with it earlier - basically sounded like a medley of all the stuff i was listening to in 1995. No bad thing!

Interesting to hear about the flypast - was hanging out in the production office maybe 10 years ago and there was apparently a no-fly zone over the site, to stop local amateurs tootling over to have a look from above

Apparently Avon and Somerset police have been asked to look into comments made during Kneecap's performance.

Actually quite enjoying Neil Young - I like how they’ve shrunk the set down to make it more intimate. He’s nearly 80 yrs old!

Yeah I thought that - not just the voice, but the dress, the backing singers and everything. Shame.

I know people will hate them purely because they have Bono’s son leading them but Inhaler were really good.

Hear me out, just finished James Bond and Charlie CX (?) on the live feed. Is she lip synching? She’s managing to do shout outs to the crowd over her own vocals.

Obvious miming and heavy on the auto tune. The kids love her though so she’s obviously doing something right. Came in to watch Neil Young, currently preferring (or just getting mesmerised by the light show) XCX.

If you care to look at twitter the Israeli Zionist lobby are frothing with rage (nothing new there) at the Bob Vylan/Kneecap sets, quite how they are so upset at Kneecap I don’t know as it wasn’t broadcast, unless they actively sought out/were watching the live tik tok feed.

Let them bring it on, every single pub band/youth will be rallying behind them

yeah, she’s shit, her brat album is also shit and a tired rehash of every dance music trope from the last 30 years

Amyl, Bob, Wet Leg, Nova Twins, Fat Dog have all been excellent.

I missed Kneecap though … was it cut from the feed?

I didn’t expect it but enjoyed Pulp on the radio whilst cooking (don’t tell anyone about the cooking nor Pulp 🤭)

But all these classical musicians have to show "there's another side to me".

No they don't all have to. But a lot of classical musicians do enjoy playing other stuff too.

I'm watching Charlie Xcx and although I'm an old cynical bugger I can appreciate her mix of backing track and live vocals.  But blimey, the spectacle is bland on every metric.

I'd be annoyed at the festival if I was stuck behind a flag though.  Fortunately Mrs BigJohn manages to escort me to the 3rd row (next to the bass player) at every festival we've been to.  She has this magical property of sliding us through crowds that have been waiting patiently for a couple of hours, and then coming back with beers!

Oh the joy of invisibility as soon as you start drawing your pension!

Neil is rocking! His voice is unbelievable for 79 and the set is way way tighter than people think - his band is world class too.
Of all the oldies he really still has it.

Just watching Gary Numan on catch up.

Excellent headbanging for 67.

He's getting his family involved too. First his eldest daughter, Raven. Then his middle daughter, Persia. I'm wondering what his youngest might be called. Sharon maybe? 🤔

Dear BBC,

I have been appalled by the lack of a usable search by artist function in your Glastonbury coverage.  Is this what I pay my license fee for?  It's worse than the STW forum search.

Straight in the trash, people from "The North" don't get a look-in, if you had signed off from High Wycombe or Huntingdon there would have been more chance.

I think i’ll catch up on Charli’s set later - enjoyed the Chemical Bros intro and the Sophie rip-off pop that followed, but I needed to go to bed. She’s come a heck of a long way since I saw her supporting Sleigh Bells in Brighton. Surprising really.

Regarding Raye, saw her open the pyramid stage a couple of years back and she was great. So pleased that's she been bumped up the bill.

She's had a mighty struggle with the industry to get where she is today.

Not too sure why but I have a soft spot for The Libertines, but I'm often let down by what a shambles they can be. But today, in a not-shambolic way, they're spot on for an it's way too hot last day 2pm slot.

Bob Vylan is not going to be shown. Whilst it’s alright for the IDF to commit genocide it’s not ok to for musicians to threaten them.

Currently watching the Kneecap set off of the iPlayer.

Seems pretty unfiltered compared with what I saw being shown around yesterday.

Crowd looked wild 😎

Another great set.

I'm struggling with the iPlayer.

All I can see is recordings sorted by shit 'categories' I have no interest in - but how do I see complete artist sets? (ie, Neil Young)

It's doing my head in.

The numan set was good (and his youngest is called echo, btw)

One thing I did note, having been to numerous numan gigs before, he finished with are friends electric. Normally  the last talky line he'll do a 'you know this means everything to me' refering to the gigs and the fan base.

For this though, he didn't. Instead he emphasized the line 'i don't think I mean anything to you' in the first talky bit of the song.

I do wonder how many were expecting  80s electronic hits and instead got some goth electro rock and interpretive dance.

I think "threaten" is the issue here. I think under BBC guidelines "criticise" is OK "threaten" is not.

That Turnstile set was something else.  Have to say, with all the c**p going on at home and abroad, channelling that pent up aggression in the positive way that they do must be a public service!

CHIC are on. Finally something worth listening to. Wouldn't ever profess to be a fan but after previous performances at Glasto they seem to embody a full repertoire, huge entertainment value, and a propet polished stage performance few others can match. Love it

To echo others, I enjoyed Turnstile, despite knowing almost nothing about or of them. It was really ****ing good. I can’t really listen to hardcore but, experiencing or watching it live is cracking.

I am also enjoying Snow Patrol. 😂

Rod Stewart is amazing for his age, I'll give him that.

I've never paid any attention to Glastonbury before. It appears to be on and have to say, Rod needs to stop...his singing doesn't sound good and he appears to be pretty stiff and not as flexible as he was (aware he is old, so hats off still being able to get up, but he needs to stop).

Anyway, as I was never interested in it, the cameras have panned out and I just hadn't appreciated how absolutely huge it is...how big is the farmer's farm as it has a massive footprint!

Genuinely surprised and impressed (although not with Rod, but I don't tend to listen to him anyway so I'm now going to get off the couch and do something else).

Glad I caught Bob Vylans's set as it went out live if they are not going to make it available  to watch back. Also glad I got to see them live at a festival a couple of years ago. Vital, visceral stuff, more of that and less of the Sunday afternoon bland grandad stuff please (I'm looking at you Chic).

I just hadn't appreciated how absolutely huge it is

Click on this link and place a virtual Glastonbury over your nearest small town. Be both simultaneously amazed at how huge it is and equally appalled that it was home to 210,000 people over the weekend. It nicely covers my nearest town....which makes it feel massive, until I remember my local town only has a population of 10,000.

If they'd done that it would have been broadcast to the several thousand that had heard of Bob Vylan and were watching the set, and the few 10's of thousands that were there. And that would be it.

Instead it's all over the newspapers and TV, a Minister's had to condemn it on breakfast telly - and in doing so has also called out the ISR Gov for their crimes directly.

If that's nausing it up a few more need to start doing the same.

To make the point, from the Guardian Glastoblog

It was striking to note that all three of the acts I saw on the Other stage today – Crookes, Turnstile and Nadine Shah – gave emphatic, positivist statements of support for Palestine.

I wonder how many front pages, breakfast news segments or ministerial comments they get?

The lineup this year has been very good. So much good stuff. Especially the smaller acts. Live music nowadays is way better than it was.

**** knows what we actually need to do to get a ticket (8 years of bad luck) but we'll be trying again in 2027

Prodigy later.

I’ve watched Kneecap’s set twice now. This weekend has got me back in love with them again. I love that a huge amount of their rapping is _as Gaeilge_. As they said, a language that nobody knows, and that includes a large proportion of the population of the island that should be speaking it. Ffs, they got away with _Tiocfaigh Ár Lá_ in the recorded feed. 😂

And **** it, they’re young. Their audience is the future. Not a bunch of fuddies on STW. I’ll be seeing them at Green Man in August. I’ve ordered a couple of tricolour balaclavas for me and the boy. 🇮🇪 🇵🇸

According to the apologist gobshites I've heard from/seen on the news (bbc1/C4) I imagine they would have preferred it if bob vylan had cleared what they were were going to say with the Israeli propaganda division beforehand, and then sat down with a nice cup of tea and cake to discuss the speeches afterwards.

They deserve everything thrown at them, the idf that is.

Neil Young did have some 'is there, isn't there' embargo shite on his set, but may be available after the event, I don't know. There's a lot of filmed performances and takes time for Auntie to cut it all up and get onto the web.

If you want to see Libertines, you can gamble on it being available after, as above, or go to the Pyramid feed on iplayer and just rewind, they were on about 2ish.

I can't agree. The best way to make any significant change from the uk is for the mood of the majority of the nation to be appalled sufficiently for UK politician's policy and attitude on the world stage to harden for no reason other than chasing domestic votes. That includes the middle englander, law abiding mild mannereds of centre to DM political leanings who always but always turn up to vote. But chanting stuff the PM has no choice but the condemn is not going to win them over - the exact opposite. They stop listening to the cause and just go into disapproval mode.

But this is not the thread for it.
