Hmm, going to see them in Munich in November, hopefully on an indoor stage they're better...

Just finished so stuck BBC Glasto on the telly, just in time to catch end of Lewis Capaldi's set.  Given his backstory it rapidly got very dusty here!  Crowd seemed to giving him a lot of love and positive vibes, was great to see  😀 looking forward to Alanis shortly and Turnstile over the weekend. Right, where's my beer?!

Nowt I want to see on the “big” main stages except for kneecap, on the smaller stage I’ll try and see floating points, four tet, optimo, Marie Davidson, chaos in the CBD, Erol alkan, modeselektor, Antony szmierek.

Whether they’ll all be shown on the online feed is another matter

Lorde was a good opener this morning.

I enjoyed Wet Leg.

Alanis was irritating so I turned off half way through her set.

Blossoms have been my favourite so far.

Now watching English Teacher on BBC4.

It’s weird - I usually like quirky rocky female vocalists and she is intelligent, interesting to read and writes a reasonable tune buuut no, you’d have to pay me. I guess she appeals more to women, my wife saw her in Amsterdam this week and said she was amazing..

Personally Biffy effin Clyro are more my thing.

Busta Rhymes was good fun. Paunchy these days but still a big clown. After that i went for Denzel Curry but between him and Busta i started to tire of being told to put my mother****in hands in the air.

Caught a bit of Floating Points but functional club techno doesn't really work so well on tv!

And yes I had been looking forward to BadBadNotGood too, but switched over to them, saw about 30 seconds of milquetoast noodly jazz suede loafer yacht rock and went straight back to Busta instead!

Tired: yacht rock

Wired: wearing a gold chain so enormous you could use it to moor an actual yacht

I consider them more “Pontins”, as dull as watching beige emulsion paint dry on a hospital waiting room wall

Quite enjoyed Alanis’ actual performance, but what the flipping heck was the 5 min of intro video of self promotion before she walked on. I thought she was more switched on than that.

Self Esteem  - I just love her so much. Absolute perfection. Yes, I am a total 6music Dad.

1975 - I’ve kinda been blissfully unaware of them, other than seeing the occasional thing that would suggest Mr lead singer thinks he is the coolest man on earth. Was therefore expecting something a bit edgy - hell no, turns out it’s the blandest, luke warm, lightweight shite imaginable.

Also enjoyed Wet Leg, Franz F, Maribuo State & Four Tet.

Exactly the amount you’d expect it to. The amount that sends the Daily Mail into a froth, but is totally standard for any event in 2025.

About a fiver, then? that's not too bad, considering the price of the tickets.

Whoops!

I wasn’t listening to the 1975, but Kylie😂😂😂

It went from Alex Holcombe announcing the 1975 on stage, to kylie.

Now that I’m listening to the 1975, they sound like fairly accomplished musicians. Albeit, a touch lightweight.

Still, their oeuvre is within the realms of blue-eyed soul, and the sax is reminiscent of Spandeau Ballet.

Spent the evening with BlueSky and the #Glastonbury feed. Biffy Clyro's tribute to Brian Wilson was touching. Lewis Capaldi on catch-up was heart-warming lots of love and support for him.

Any one else seeing his relative on with Franz Ferdinand think Maxx Headroom?

out of touch 6 music (grand)dad here..... i know blue sky is the alternative to mr musk, but what do you get with the glasto feed?  is it just something on your phone or can you stream sets that BBC arent showing to your tv?

EDIT:  whats wrong with dialect/slang?  had 's u m m a t' autocorrected to 'something' for some reason....

I assume he means just monitoring the chat to see what people are saying about what's going on.

It's really seeing her perform live that makes it click. I'm a rabid fan, but that came from seeing her at a festival a few years ago.

Self Esteem - musically not really my cup of tea but thoroughly enjoyed watching their performance; that's why I keep banging on about live (OK, I know it's iPlayer here) - as an event would have been belting to be there.

And whoever said Fatdog up there.....thanks, I'm enjoying this a lot and it'll be banging out of my sensible family car stereo for a few weeks now. Breakdancing violinists, whatever next.

Really enjoying Bob Vylan. Just seen Kneecap wont be broadcast live at 4pm (available on iPlayer tomorrow). Would they really say anything that Bob Vylan haven't already (already broadcast live)  other than BV probably don't have the same profile...from a different vibe, thought Beabadoobee was excellent too...

I doubt Kneecaps set will be available on the BBC later, rather sweary and lots of chants regarding kier starmer, Gaza, Palestine etc. I watched it through a tik tok live feed that had 1.7m viewers, so thanks to helenshearling from wales

On Freely TV, it’s one of the boxes, so I clicked it and it was joyous. Not much visually on tv really, but with the soundbar cranked up, sorted. 🙂  The extremely nondescript The Frames were on live I think, so it was a welcome relief

Is Raye quite as good as she thinks she is?

Her cellist was wigging out.  But all these classical musicians have to show "there's another side to me".
