In terms of being green would we be better off using more glass for bottles and containers than plastic?

Well, if we recycled the glass containers more ittud be better, but not by sending them back to be washed out and all that, cos that involves transportation, more energy to clean them, etc.
No, if shops sold stuff in big vats and you went along and had yer container filled up. That would cut right down on wasteful packaging.
