I ran over a bottle outside the house last night which resulted in a rather nasty shard of glass sticking out. I pulled it out, but some was left in the tyre, right in the chunky bit of the tread.

Luckly these tyres are on the limit and are being changed Friday. Its not defalting so my thoughts are to leave it embedded and use the other car for Thursdays M/Way trip to Hampshire but it’ll probabaly be OK for todays 16 mile round trip through slow north london to the inlaws.

Is my thinking right? Or should I remove it/change to the space saver?

I'd say you'll be fine.

Untill the glass launches out your tyre at 9000rpm and hits a baby robin

I'd pull it out, what's not there can't get pushed further in.

If it had punctured the tyre you'd know about it by now...

Im just nervous its penetrated and plugging a hole itself, and may come out.

In the rear tyres?

Shirley if they’re getting changed Friday, it’s an ideal time for Beamer Burnouts no?

This guys doing it in a car park by the looks of it, but we all know most Beamer drivers do this from any roundabout exit 😉

Leave it, and check your spare and tools are good to go. At this stage you still have a spare if you puncture a different wheel.

No tyre places open today near me, I guess it's the same near you.

I'd leave it in 100% not long term but as you are getting them changed Friday anyway. I had a screw in my tyre and as soon as I took it out the tyre started going down. In the end I had to screw it back into the tyre!
