There's been a few threads recently about the stupidly high cost of getting a rental car...I'm flying into Glasgow in a couple of weeks time and the rental car prices I'm being quoted are beyond stupid.
So, trying to be creative, how do I figure out approx cost of a taxi to Aberfoyle? Uber service doesn't seem to exist (though I'm a Uber noob so could be doing something wrong)
2 adults, a large suitcase plus bike bag...
train to balloch or stirling taxi the rest of the way.
Phone up Glasgow airport taxis and ask?
The official taxis outside the airport will be a fair whack to Aberfoyle as you'll be crossing 2 council boundaries. Definitely try and book a collection. It's a decent size airport lots of taxi cos will collect you there.
There is a bus X10 from the centre of Glasgow to Aberfoyle if you want a public transport option.
I have done a few long distance taxis. Usually pay around £2.50 to £3 a mile
Train to stirling and taxi from there would makes sense
Uber works in Edinburgh not tbat i use them
Google "Stirling Taxi Airport" and give one of the listed companies a call.
They all do airport transfers.
