Got about 5kg of Damsons (so far) . A tree full of Bramleys. Bags of Blackberries in the freezer. Autumn Raspberries. Sloes in a few weeks. Rosehips when I get my arse in gear and go hunt some etc etc so I'm covered with the basic fruit jams.... however, do any of you have any twists on these traditional flavours? Any boozy recipes?

Damson gin, raspberry vinegar, homemade black currant and blackberry cordial? Not much booze involved though...

Little drop of brandy into blackberry jam as you put lids on. Gives hint of brandy and thins it better for spreading.

did a batch of blackberry and apple jam last month - it's great

the other year i did an apple jam with honey, cinnamon and walnuts, that wasn't bad too

my current thing is blackberry vinegar - ace as a dressing on salads etc 🙂

Not much to add here except the had chuckleberry jam doughnuts at work today which were apparently very nice. I'd never heard of them.

If you want to make something a little different then worth a try.

We did blackberry vodka this year. Already turning colour. Just add sugar and blackberries.
