Have lots of stuff on my iPhone that I want to transfer to an old PC.
Is there any free software that will allow me transfer the music over (other than iTunes)
(my old laptop died and don't want to have to dig out all my CD's and transfer them longhand again.
I think that you can use this if all you want is music.

I was looking at this earlier, but couldn't find anything that was free! Copytrans will do 100 songs before asking for $20. If you haven't got ios 5 MediaMonkey will do it for free I believe, but it says it doesn't work with ios 5...
You are apple's bitch.
Many have tried - few if any succeed.
Go to http://www.i-funbox.com/ and download the ifunbox file manager. Plug in the iPhone to the PC and start up the ifunbox application, you can then browse the files in the phone. To get at the music files you need to select Raw file system then iTunes control folder and then the Music folder. The tracks are then in the folders there, however nce you've copied them to the PC you will need to listen to and rename them all as they are not stored on the iPhone as the song title.

I'm a 100% Multimedia Numpty and I managed it with the info above.
So can't be difficult
So for that reason.....I'm out..... Apple need a new bitch
.
Thanks for the info.
So if you've got an iPhone, and you won't use the software that it relies on for backup and everything, why the hell bother with an iPhone? And what's the issue with iTunes anyway? I just can't understand why people have issues, honestly. 9000 or so tracks in my iTunes, and it does everything I could possibly want it to; manage the music on my iPods, play music off my Mini through my A/V system...
What else do I need it to do?
