So, I had the great idea of taking the train to avoid the inevitable road congestion that we're going to have over the next few days. Looking at the UCI website, tramline & Shiel buses, I almost managed to hatch a plan, but not quite.
Train into Spean Bridge, arriving 10.19, then surely there is a bus to get to Nevis Range. Well, not one that I can see. There is local bus which leaves Sean Bridge at 10.22, and it's apparently a 4 min walk from the railway station - so chances are that we would miss this bus by the skin of our teeth. There is parking at Glen Spean Brewery, but this is 2km or so from the railway station and no mention that they stop to pick up on route to Nevis Range. Somebody thought about a bus to pick up train passengers, don't think so!
The alternative is to get the train into Ft William, but this adds extra time to an already a long journey. I called a very friendly and helpful person on the travels helpline but she admitted that they haven't received much info just yet.. Guess it's just easier and a lot quicker to take the car....
There's a shuttle bus from Spean Bridge.. free and direct to the event!

[s]Yes there is. Park at the primary school (£5 to the parent council), walk around the corner. [/s]
Correction: looks like free parking at the brewery
Don't tell too many people as it was quiet the last couple of years...
It's a 3 min walk from the station to the bus stop on the A82 in Spean Bridge, which is where the shuttle buses pick up from.
thanks, It looked as if the free shuttle buses were running to and from the car parking at Glen Spean Brewery and not necessarily stopping on route. If they are, then that's great and I take back all my negativity and disbelief at the travel planning!
