I am asking if you would be so kind as to sign this petition.

The UK is one of the only Western countries NOT to have declared that the enforced starvation of 6 to 100 million Ukrainian people between 1932 and 1933 was in fact a genocide, yet such recognition is important in getting nations to face up to the past. Turkey's failure to face up the Armenian Genocide, for example, is one of the reasons why they have not got anywhere with European status.

In any case, it would mean a great deal were you to sign. You have my thanks, in advance.

I'm considering signing it. Which 25 countries have recognised it as such ?

For jambalaya.
I signed after a quick google and depressing read. Wiki was the least emotive explanation .

Sorry, I just re-read my post, and want to correct the fact that I said '100 million'. I meant 6 - 10 (ten) million.

And thanks for taking an interest, those of you who have read up on it.

I've signed it. My dad was from that part of the world and can remember it.

Signed and good luck.

OP I can see a counter argument that Stalin's policies where not targeted at specific ethnicity, he was responsible for the deaths of millions of Russians and as such it may not technically be a genocide. Also most of Europe hasn't recognised it (France, Germany,UK etc) although the EU Parliament has.
