Got a unit with some moisture inside which is taking ages to get out.
I've removed the bulb but I guess the weather isn't helping.
Anything I can try or do I just wait for it to come out on its own?
This is not a vehicle that will normally be out in the rain so I don't think/want to buy a new headlamp.
I had a similar issue on my Corrado. People will tell you to remove the rubber bulb gasket thing etc and drive with the lights on, but in the end what worked for me was taking the headlight off the car, bringing it inside and drying it in a warm place with the bulb and holder removed then putting it back in the car.
OK cool. I've moved the unit inside and once it's clear it shouldn't be getting wet again so hopefully job done.
You could try a few granules of silica gel.
There's a thought. May look for a spare sachet hanging around.
Stick it in a bowl of rice, that will draw the moisture out like the silica gel.
quick version is to use a heat gun pointed into the bulb hole. Hair-dryer would probably work fine
Stick it in the oven on low with the back cover removed and pointing upwards for a couple of hours or airing cupboard for a day. Replace cover while still warm and allow to cool somewhere with low humidity before sticking back where the car is to cool with the rear cover still attached (and any bulb holes taped over).
Or use hair dryer as above but follow precautions on letting it cool down while sealed.
Set the lamp unit on the AGA over night.
Glue a silica packet just inside the housing.
