Saw my surgeon for a follow-up visit and to sign me off as all fixed. 🙂

I've been trying to remember the lovely latin name for the numbness I was having in my outer thigh. Looked all over for the answer and finally found it on Mumsnet - Meralgia Paraesthetica

I'm worried that my life has reached a point that place can provide the answers. :-/

well, my outer thigh has been numb for over 10 years since I broke my hip.

I always assumed it was as a result of the muscles being cut for surgery.

Now I know it's nerve damage where it passes the injury and has a proper name.

thank you 🙂

I think this is what I have had since taking part in the Welsh Ride Thing on the last May Bank Holiday...

Had a severe burning/stinging pain in my thigh, which continually came and went for the next week and since then, my outer thigh has had a numb patch...

Weird...

Was the Centre Parcs thing a troll by someone from here?

On the helpful answers thing, I had occasion to use it for some advice around the time mrs deadly first tested positive for pregnancy - a more helpfu, positive, bunch I couldn't have wished for. There are some funny threads on there, but I'd never noticed it being "not-leftie". 😕

Mumsnet, right-wing? You must be joking. It's as anti-Cameron / Osborne as you could wish (witch) for.
Generally it's full of helpful advice & nice people.
