It's been on my mind for a while to get a 35mm 1980's Leica inspected & valued, for insurance more than anything else.

Original receipt has all the information but is rather illegible to the untrained eye.

Can scan & post if it'll help.

Any recommendations in Edinburgh/ Midlothian?

Use this to use serial to find model, then you should be able to get an idea of value online or from a specialist, depending on model.

There's a wee shop at Abbeyhill. Maybe one in Morningside?

Most of the value will be in the lenses rather than the body, which you could use on a modern digital body if you want.

Nice! Value very dependent on its condition and the model and condition of the lens. For insurance purposes, I'd go for retail value from a dealer, so approx £300, for the body. Probably around what you paid for it?

Have you a lens for it?
