Only went and dropped my ruddy s20 5g today, and despite a brill case, it landed on uneven ground and cracked the screen...
FFS!

Keen to get it repaired, but apart from iSmash in Brighton (they don't have the screen in stock..) there's 2 online companies.. samsungrepair.com and https://www.tmtfirst.co.uk/
Anyone used these people at all?

Once has a technician come out to you for £270, the other is a post it away job for £220...

Anyone else to consider?

ta!!

I can't help with local shops but I took my S20 to someone last week who did screen and back for £180. So you might do better with shopping around. Still silly money but not quite as silly...

I won't buy another phone with a screen that goes round the edges like this. And will avoid glass backs too. On the plus side the new screen came with a protector fitted.

Seems to me that cases are either uncomfortably chunky or don't do the job. I've gone for the former this time.

I always have mine in a flip case now, having cracked a S5 screen walking up stairs at work - no idea how it happened... If you do any activity more than sticking it in a handbag, go full protection.

My daughter manages with jusr a back cover, nothing over the screen. Iphone 10 at the moment, but she's never sashed one.

My son is a clutz and has smashed every phone he's had. Bailed him out last two times with me upgrading(he is 20)... The S9 I've given him, it's stay in the flip case or else....

I used WeFix for my S9 battery. They came to my house, did it in a van, were good. I think it's the repair 'partner' for Samsung in the UK, I got to it from Samsung's site.

Cheers all..

I've actually got a really good case, that I've dropped the phone in hundreds of times and it's fine (it protects proud of the screen, so normally fine).. it's just it fell directly onto a stone... eek...

Will look at those options, ta!

I'm pretty sure ismash will get a screen in for you so you can have it done while you wait.

I have promised myself to keep my current S9 as long as I can because consumerism/environmentalism and I use a flip case for this reason. However I have a wool cycling jersey which has baggy rear pockets and it fell out, flipped open and cracked and scratched the bottom corner of the screen. It's only cosmetic which means I can't justify the cost of a repair, and I can't justify a new phone. Bummer.
