3 phone calls, 3 weeks, now "passed up chain" and told to wait another week.

1st phone call - all details given told to wait. just over week later..
2nd phone - revealed first request was denied due to lack of details, more details given and week later...
3rd phone call - code given over phone - I insisted he stayed on line whist PIN typed in, did not work. Now passed up the chain and told to wait for email. 3 days and counting.

I used to like o2 but recently their service had been dubious. Then they wiped a data bolt on the day after I bought it on my billing date because that's what they do ,despite all info about them saying 30 days (no mention of billing date). Took 2 phone calls, numerous online chats and eventually a twitter campaign to get an apology, the money back and a mention of maybe reviewing their wording. Soon as my contracts up I'm oot .

TBH I've always found O2 service pretty good. I still pay a premium for a 30 day contract, though, so I can walk when I want.

I've had three iPhones unlocked by O2, and all went without a hitch, I just phoned them, gave the relevant details, made sure I had a different network SIM installed, and that was it.

I recently used the online chat thing to unlock an iPhone 5 and it was done straight away. Been with O2 for years and never had any problems.

Not had reason to use their CS but they have absolutely rubbish service & data speeds.
Never have any issues with my work mobiles, that I inevitably end up using.

I guess it depends where you are because I seem to get reception long after everybody else has dropped theirs.

And data speed wise. Fast enough that i didn't notice my virgin broadband fall over for 2 days.

I've always used the chat and never had an issue.

Done it 3 times recently using their online form and it happened within a few hours. All various iPhones.

Live chat seemed to get things moving again - another 7 day wait for another code. So it transpires the last code was for a different phone. On line chat does seem to get a "brighter" type of person. Will update when successful.
